About Us | Staff & Board | Partners & Links

Klamath Riverkeeper restores water quality and fisheries throughout the Klamath watershed, bringing vitality and abundance back to the river and its people.

We work closely with the Klamath River tribes, fishermen, and recreational groups, in all aspects of our programs. We apply a variation of our four-pronged approach to all of our campaigns and projects:

We have an active membership of people from all over the Klamath, and all over the Western US. If you are as passionate about the Klamath River as we are, consider joining us and offering your valuable input and ideas!

Staff & Board of Directors

Erica Terence, Klamath RiverkeepterErica Terence
Conservation Director/Executive Director

Erica was born and raised in the rugged, remote canyons of the Klamath’s Salmon River. Growing up, her mentors were smart, independent citizens who organized coalitions against irresponsible logging and mining that would further silt up already degraded streams in the Klamath watershed. After studying abroad and receiving a BA in environmental journalism, Erica returned to California to edit the Northcoast Environmental Center’s (NEC) respected monthly publication, the ECONEWS. In the wake of longtime NEC director Tim McKay’s untimely death, Erica stepped in to maintain the NEC’s seat at the Klamath settlement negotiating table, representing the nonprofit in those talks between 28 parties for more than a year. She initiated, funded and completed scientific scrutiny of the settlement, collaborated with a diverse range of interests and forged sound working relationships with many of the players in the Klamath dam relicensing process. She now works alongside the people who depend on a healthy Klamath River, helping to empower communities of the Klamath and their allies to speak out against environmental injustices and keeping pace with complex legal and regulatory processes that affect the fate of the river and its people.

Konrad Fisher Konrad Fisher
Outreach Director

Konrad has strong roots in the Klamath basin as well as fourteen years of advocacy, research and communications experience on water policy and the protection fo river-dependent communities. Before setting up shop at KRK, Konrad worked to secure tribal representation in California's water management planning process, stop the nation's largest proposed water bottling plant, prevent groundwater export from Siskiyou County, defeat a bill that would have opened U.S. federal waters to industrial fish farming, and dedicate water rights for instream flows. Four generations of Konrad's family have called the basin home (including a grandfather that worked on the Trinity River dam), and he now resides on the lower Klamath. Look for Konrad's email in your inbox and meet him in person at upcoming outreach events!

Maggie Kelly, Bookkeeper/AdministratorMaggie Kelly
Bookkeeper/Administrator

Based in Klamath Falls, Maggie brings several decades worth of experience in bookkeeping and office management to Klamath Riverkeeper. She has worked for Klamath County, the Klamath Crisis Center and Klamath Tribal Health & Services, and is also on her church budget committee. She enjoys riding her family's 2010 Harley Davidson (pictured at left with her husband Walt and grandson Logan) as well as camping and snowmobiling. She says her greatest joy is her husband and family.

KRK Intern Maymi PrestonMaymi Preston
Intern & Community Organizer

You might catch Maymi at the Klamath Riverkeeper table at local fairs and festivals. Maymi has volunteered, interned and now staffs the KRK booth when her demanding college schedule allows it. A Karuk tribal descendant from the Orleans, California area, Maymi is currently attending Southern Oregon University. She is pictured here with her brother on the Klamath's Salmon River.
